Hi all! Two pieces of news:

First up, we have two new mods! Welcome to fidesangelus and hollywoodgrrl who've kindly put up their hands to help keep this Seeker Ship sailing smoothly.

Secondly, we have some important new guidelines for the community. Given the community's increasing popularity for discussion and information (and popularity outside of regular LJ circles), the mod team would like to take a moment to restate some rules for our members and clarify legendofseeker's policies in regards to discussion.

Public versus Members' posts:

1. All graphics, fanvids, fanmixes, picspams and show news posts are public (but of course you may post members only if you wish).


2. Discussion posts (episode discussions, spoiler/rumour discussions, tweets, theorizing etc) will from now on be members only posts, ie: locked.

The exception will be the weekly episode discussions (usually posted and hosted by whitelily22) which will be public for the duration of the week until the next episode discussion is posted. At that time the previous week's discussion will be archived and only available to members.

This way artistic contributions can have full exposure, and we can continue to have great discussions without fear of being linked externally.


Etiquette:

We love discussions and all of the entertainment and healthy enthusiasm they generate but while discussing Legend of the Seeker and the individuals working and associated with the show we need to maintain respect for everyone involved.

Here are the golden rules for discussion etiquette:

1. Unsubstantiated discussion of actors/directors/producers' personal lives is not permitted. Unless it comes with a credible source and is relevant to Legend of the Seeker, this is not the place to discuss it.


2. Keep it relatively clean. We aren't going to be the profanity police or tell you not to make certain kinds of jokes of references but don't be crude.


3. Periodically Bridget Regan updates her twitter with particularly exciting LotS news and sometimes with fandom related tweets. Discussion regarding these things needs to follow the first policy, don't stray into speculating about Bridget's personal life just because it's vaguely inspired by one of her tweets. Don't abuse the familiarity Bridget has graced us with or she might decide to rescind it and then no one would be happy.


4. If you're unsure about whether what you're about to post violates these policies, please err on the side of caution and take it to your private journal.

We're not clamping down on the fun and we're not going to be ridiculous about this, but we are encouraging everyone to continue to be responsible.
